It would really depend on the strength of the moodlet that’s powering the emotions. in a hypothetical scenario like you mentioned, I’d imagine we would tune the moodlets so that the moodlet for a Sim’s mother’s death would be stronger than the moodlet for being around sad people, thus your Sim would primarily be impacted by their mother’s death and their resulting emotion would match that.
